Hearing Aid Styles

Completely in the Canal (CIC)

Best for mild to moderate hearing loss
A Completely in the Canal or Invisible in the Canal (IIC) hearing aid is the least detectible style. Custom fit to the shape of your ear canal, CIC hearing aids are comfortable and virtually invisible. They are also available in a range of skin tone colors.

In the Canal (ITC)

Best for mild to moderate hearing loss
In the Ear hearing aids fit into the ear canal, so they are barely noticeable. They can be custom fit to the size and shape of your ear canal for maximum comfort. Like the CIC hearing aids, they are available in a range of skin tone colors.

Full Shell or In the Ear (ITE)

Best for mild to severe hearing loss
Not well suited for people with profound hearing loss, the Full Shell In the Ear hearing aid is molded to the contours of the inner ear for a lightweight, comfortable fit. This type of hearing aid is available in a range of skin tone colors.

Behind-the-Ear (BTE) & Receiver-in-the-Ear

Flexible solution for all types of hearing loss
The Behind-the-Ear and Receiver-in-the-Ear hearing aids are among the most flexible solutions for all types of hearing loss. These styles wrap around the back of the ear with a thin, clear tube running into the ear canal to deliver sound. This tubing may be coupled with an earmold or a small dome, allowing for a more “open fit”. There are a variety of sizes and colors available for an inconspicuous look.
